Cell of Our Lady
of Walsingham
The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, known as 'England's Nazareth' came to fame following the report that Mary, Jesus' mother, had appeared to the Lady Richeldis. Mary instructed Richeldis that a place of worship, modeled on the Holy House of Nazareth, should be built in honour of the incarnation of the Lord.
It is a great place of pilgrimage, where countless numbers come each year to seek spiritual refreshment and healing.
At St Laurence, we join locally with our neighbors Holy Trinity Ilkeston, as a cell of the shrine in devotion to the incarnate Lord, and the valuable part that Mary plays in God's plan for our salvation.
